Zea Owners Recognized for Community Service
NEW ORLEANS – May 3, 2012 –
Congratulations to Taste Buds Management for their “Restaurant Neighbor Award” from the National Restaurant Association in recognition of their recent charitable work.
In 2011, Taste Buds Management, made up LHF board member Greg Reggio, Hans Limburg and Gary Darling, set up cooking sites in Tuscaloosa, Ala. and Joplin, Mo. to provide warm meals for tornado victims. The relief efforts were part of an ongoing project titled, “Three Chefs, One Mission” designed to help communities and people in need after facing devastation. In addition, the team also contributed to LiuzzaPalooza, an event that raised money for Luizza’s owner Michael Bordelon, who was hit by a drunk driver.
The chefs generously selected the Louisiana Hospitality Foundation as the beneficiary of the $5,000 prize money from their award.
